Spinosaurus vs Giganotosaurus: Who would win?

Giganotosaurus vs Spinosaurus: Who would win?

Giganotosaurus was a giant carnivorous dinosaur that lived in Argetina about 102-90 million years ago.

Here are the stats of Giganotosaurus.

Stats:

 Height: 6 meters.

 Length: 13 meters.

Weight: 6-8(maybe 9) tons.

Speed: 50-60 kilometers/hour.

Family: Carcharodontosauridae.

Diet: Mainly Sauropods.

Weapons: Jaws, speed and numbers. Giganotosaurus was a pack hunter that brought down sauropods in a group.

Spinosaurus was a giant carnivorous(and fish eating) dinosaur that lived in North Africa around 107-96 million years ago.

This is the stats of Spinosaurus.

Stats: Height

Height: 3-5 meters.

Length: 14-15 meters(maybe 13 meters)

Weight: 6-10 tons.

Speed: 20-25 kilometers/hour.

Family: Spinosauridae.

Diet: Fish.

Weapons: Claws and conical teeth.

Giganotosaurus advantages:

  • Faster. Way faster. Giganotosaurus, after all was built for land and Spinosaurus for water.
  • Height advantage. Very important in a battle as it serves as to intimidate each other. Also useful for reaching the weaker parts of the dinosaur.
  • More fighting experience? Hunting sauropods and working together may have gave it more experience in fighting and hunting even though Spinosaurus had to deal with Carcharodontosaurus.
  • Stronger bite. (Not as much as Tyranosaurids so it isn't necessarily a big advantage.
Now to Giganotosaurus disadvantages
  • Can't swim. Argentina was a dry place even back then.
  • Shorter in length. This isn't a huge disadvantage though.
  • Short and stubby arms that weren't very useful in battle. The arms hinder its abilities.
What about Spinosaurus?

Spinosaurus advantages:
  • Well-suited to swimming. It was a fish-eater so that's obvious.
  • Longer. Not a big advantage like I said.
  • Longer reach. It had a long reach that was used to hook fish and possibly pterosaurs
Spinosaurus disadvantages are:
  • Way slower. So it can't flee unless it weakens Giganotosaurus' legs.
  • Shorter in height. Therefore, it can't really do much in terms of intimidation.
  • Less fighting experience? It hunted fish and likely had less experience fighting Carcharodontosaurus.
  • Weaker bite. Not very weak though.
  • Spine? It could have intimidate it but it was also a potential weakness.
Battleground: A fair battleground is easy. The same as Tarbosaurus vs Spinosaurus which is a forest bordering a lake.
Giganotosaurus is taller and seems to have the advantage but Spinosaurus also can swim. Spinosaurus could maybe slash Giganotosaurus in the leg and then retreat to lure it into the lake and because Giganotosaurus has a weaker bite than Tarbosaurus, Spinosaurus has a huge advantage in water. Also, Tarbosaurus is lucky to have such a powerful jaw.
Fight: Giganotosaurus is resting in its territory when a Spinosaurus steps nearby. Step. Step. Step. Soon, its in Giganotosaurus territory and Giganotosaurus is now hostile. Giganotosaurus lives alone so this is a 1v1. Spinosaurus rakes Giganotosaurus' body but steps back when Giganotosaurus unleashes its jaws. Giganotosaurus grazes Spinosaurus' body. Spinosaurus uses its long reach to keep Giganotosaurus back. When Giganotosaurus steps forward and tries to attacks, it legs get slashed. Giganotosaurus finally retreats back as Spinosaurus moves backward. And... they draw.
Giganotosaurus had a weaker bite and that was what led to a draw. Spinosaurus vs Tarbosaurus was a close battle and Giganotosaurus was weaker and less robust than Tarbosaurus which led to a draw.
Winner: Draw.
