Top Ten Largest Carnivorous dinosaurs (length)

10. Saurophaganax

Length: 11-13 meters.

Saurophaganax was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, around 150-145 million years ago. It belonged to the family Allosauroidea, a family of theropod dinosaurs that included the famous Allosaurus. Saurophaganax was found in North America and its name means "lord of the lizard eaters". It had a long and narrow skull filled with sharp teeth that were used for tearing and slicing flesh. However it lacked a powerful bite or a robust body.

9. Chilantaisaurus.

Length: 11-13 meters at most.
Chilantaisaurus was a theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period in what is now Mongolia. It was a giant dinosaur, measuring about 12-13 meters in length and weighing around 1.5-2 tons. It had a long, slender skull with sharp, spiky teeth. It was fast and agile. Chilantaisaurus likely hunted small prey or scavenged.

However, little is known about Chilantaisaurus due to limited fossil evidence.

8. . Carcharodontosaurus iguidensis

Length: 11.5-13 meters.

Carcharodontosaurus iguidensis was a species of Carcharodontosaurus, a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived in Africa during the early Cretaceous period. C. iguidensis had a long and its large, serrated teeth, which were used to tear into the flesh of the prey it hunted. It is thought to have hunted large herbivorous dinosaurs, such as sauropods. However it may have coexisted with Spinosaurus which could be a huge threat and maybe a reason for its extinction.

7. Tyrannosaurus.

Length: 12 meters.

Tyrannosaurus, AKA T. rex, was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period. It is one of the most famous dinosaurs. T. rex was a Tyranosaurid, a family of carnivorous dinosaurs that includes other carnivores such as Tarbosaurus and Albertosaurus. T. rex was a ginormous dinosaur at 12 meters long. It had a large skull with powerful jaws and sharp teeth, which it used to hunt and kill other dinosaurs. T. rex was a top predator of its time, and it likely preyed on many other dinosaurs, including sauropods and hadrosaurs. T. rex was also known to scavenge for food, and it may have relied heavily on scavenging to survive.

6. Tyrannotian

Length: 12-13 meters.

Tyrannotitan is a Carcharodontosaurid, a family of carnivorous dinosaurs. It lived in what is now South America during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 95-90 million years ago. It is known from a number of fossil specimens, including a few partial skeletons and a many isolated bones.

5. Carcharodontosaurus saharicus

Carcharodontosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Cretaceous period 100 to 94 million years ago. It had large, sharp teeth and powerful jaws, which it used kill its prey. Carcharodontosaurus was found in Africa and likely lived with Spinosaurus. It was a Carcharodontosaurid and was closely related to Giganotosaurus and Tyrannotitan.

4. Giganotosaurus

Length: 12-13 meters. Up to 14 meters

Giganotosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period 97 to 89 million years ago. It was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs known to have existed. It was even larger than Tyrannosaurus rex. Giganotosaurus was found in Argentina and probably preyed on other large dinosaurs like sauropods. It hunted in packs.

3. Oxalaia

Length: Up to 14.5 meters.

Oxalaia is a genus of large carnivorous theropod dinosaur that lived during the early Cretaceous period 110 to 100 million years ago. It was found in Brazil. Oxalaia was a member of the Spinosaurid family that includes Spinosaurus. It was a fish eater and did not engage in combat.

2. Sigilmassasaurus

Length: Up to 14.8 meters.
Did this species really exist? Some think it was a Spinosaurus while others think it as an independant species. It was near the length of Spinosaurus. It was not much different from Spinosaurus.

1. Spinosaurus
Length: 14.9 meters. Maybe 15.2 meters?
Spinosaurus was a large theropod dinosaur that lived in Africa, during the Cretaceous Period, about 112 to 97 million years ago. It is famous for its iconic sail on its back, which was probably used for thermoregulation. Spinosaurus is still one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs, and it probably ate fish, as well as small dinosaurs. The first fossils were blown up in WWII by British bombers.
