Giganotosaurus vs Carcharodontosaurus: Who would win?

Not many people debate about who would win if a Carcharodontosaurus met a Giganotosaurus and they fought. However, for me, it is a very interesting question.

Who wins? Carcharodontosaurus is on one side, Gigantosaurus is on the other.

Giganotosaurus facts: Height: 6 to 6.5 meters. Length: 12.6 to 13.5 meters (Largest can be 14 meters long). Weight 8 to 10 tons. Speed: 50 km per hour.

Carcharodontosaurus facts: Height: 6 to 6.3 meters. Length: 12.3 to 13.3 meters. Weight: 7 to 8 tons.

Giganotosaurus weapons: Teeth, jaws, claws.

Carcharodontosaurus weapons: Teeth, jaws, claws.

Giganotosaurus: Giganotosaurus is known from a nearly complete skeleton and a partial jaw.

Here is a link on Giganotosaurus.
Giganotosaurus had a huge skull about 5 to 5.3 feet long. It was a Carcharodontosaurid, a group of theropods.
Giganotosaurus was no doubt stronger than T rex.
Here is a link on Giganotosaurus that will reveal a few facts you need to know.

This is how Wikipedia sees things.
However, I disagree with Wikipedia on size.
Giganotosaurus was 12.5 to 13.2 meters long. The largest were 14 meters and weigh 9.8 tons
So let's continue on Giganotosaurus.
Giganotosaurus had enemies, including the deadly Mapusaurus.
Giganotosaurus probably hunted in packs so that it could kill large sauropods like Argetinosaurus.

Giganotosaurus was a meat eater, it probably hunted as well as scavenged. Giganotosaurus had very sharp teeth, so it could slice skin easily.

Now, I am pretty sure you want to know its place on the whole dinosaur family tree. Well, I will explain. Giganotosaurus was part of a family of dinosaurs called Carcharodontosaurids, if you remember what I said earlier. Now, it was also a theropod as I also said earlier. So, it was related to Tyrannosaurus, another theropod. However, Tyrannosaurus was a Tyrannosaurid, and the relationship between Carcharodontosaurids and Tyrannosaurids is not very high, meaning that they are not closely related. Giganotosaurus was probably related to birds in some way, but not very closely related. Also, Giganotosaurus does not have any sign of feathers.

Now to Carcharodontosaurus.
Carcharodontosaurus: Carcharodontosaurus is known from different fossils and a skull.
Like most other dinosaurs of its family, Carcharodontosaurus had a long skull with medium - sized teeth.

Carcharodontosaurus roamed North Africa 115 to 99 million years ago, along with Spinosaurus, a giant carnivorous dinosaur.
Carcharodontosaurus' name means Shark Toothed lizard.
This dinosaur was enormous reaching a height 6 meters and 12 - 13 meters and about 8.6 tons.
The largest were about 14.3 meters and 9.3 tons.
It lived in a habitat of marshland and woodlands.

It probably lived with Spinosaurus, though it went extinct first.
Carcharodontosaurus ate medium to large sized dinosaurs, it had dagger sharp teeth and a strong head that housed a small brain.

You see, like all other theropods, Carcharodontosaurus had a small brain relative to body size and was pretty dumb.

Here is how Wikipedia sees things on carcharodontosaurus.

To get on size with Carcharodontosaurus, let's see some interesting facts. Carcharodontosaurus was smaller and slower than Giganotosaurus!
It was a bit faster than T.rex.
It had a skull that was 5.1 feet long.

If you want to know some detailed facts on Carcharodontosaurus check out my links on Carcharodontosaurus in this entry or find it on Dinosaur sites or books.
Some people think that Carcharodontosaurus is as small as 8 m.
After all, that was it says on Google.com. (Link).

Well, there are two currently known species of Carcharodontosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus saharicus and Carcharodontosaurus iguidensis.
Carcharodontosaurus iguidensis was probably 39 to 41.3 feet, while Carcharodontosaurus saharicus was 12.3 to 13.3 meters. (I am talking about Carcharodontosaurus saharicus vs Giganotosaurus, not Carcharodontosaurus iguidensis. However no adult Carcharodontosaurus could be just 8 m long.

These diagrams are a bit more accurate, but still not accurate.

Now that we have enough information on both dinosaurs, let's get to the fight! It is the battle between the strongest carcharodontosaurids!

Let's fight!
Giganotosaurus meets a Carcharodontosaurus by a river. The Carcharodontosaurus sees the Giganotosaurus in it's territory and roars at it. Water is scarce and the Giganotosaurus desperately needs the water. The Carcharodontosaurus sees that it is desperate and charges. However, the Giganotosaurus is bigger and since it is desperate for water it fights faster.
The two titans circle each other.
The two now face each other.
The Giganotosaurus whacks its tail towards the Carcharodontosaurus, the Carcharodontosaurus dodges out of the way.
The Carcharodontosaurus bites on to the Giganotosaurus scoring blood. The Giganotosaurus reacts by shrugging the Carcharodontosaurus off. The Giganotosaurus attacks, biting the Carcharodontosaurus.
He then slashes the Carcharodontosaurus. The Carcharodontosaurus angrily bites and slashes the Giganotosaurus who uses his claws to slash at the Carcharodontosaurus' eyes, blinding it.

The Carcharodontosaurus wildly bites and slashes the Giganotosaurus but missing her target.

The Giganotosaurus takes advantage of this and delivers a nearly fatal bite. But the Carcharodontosaurus smells the Giganotosaurus and uses her tail to whack the Giganotosaurus. She does not miss, but nearly hits a tree. The Giganotosaurus delivers another bite, which kills the Carcharodontosaurus.

Giganotosaurus wins!

But.
The.
Giganotosaurus.
Is.
Weak.
Bye!
