2017 June National Geographic Magazine Blog

Today I will be doing a 2017 National Geographic magazine entry. Let's begin

.

Turned to stone: Canada has yielded a well fossilized dinosaur - Borealopelta. How? I will explain. Around 100 million years ago, a Borealopelta probably drowned in a river. The Borealopelta sank to the bottom of the river and got covered by sand, rock and sediment.

When paleontologists uncovered Borealopelta, it was fossilized perfectly.

Borealopelta had two shoulder spikes, armored plates and was a nodosaur. A nodosaur was an armored dinosaur. However, unlike its close cousins the ankylosaurs, nodosaurs had no tail clubs.

Borealopelta was 18 feet long and 7 feet tall. Also Nodosaurus probably went up to 7.5 kilometers per an hour.

Conclusion: I conclude that Borealopelta was a middle - sized dinosaur. It was also fast for a dinosaur its size. And that it was a powerful stocky dinosaur.
